The holidays are now over, the decorations are all put away, a new year has begun, and all I can think about is taking a nice nap. Christmas is the best time of year, but it sure can wipe me out. By the time I get that last Christmas decoration put away, I am ready to hibernate for the winter. I must admit that as lovely as that nap sounds, I usually will not take one. I often need to remember to stop and take a break. I get wrapped up in schoolwork, chores, classes, and figuring out what’s for dinner. The Lord calls us to rest and desires that we rest in Him. Matthew 11:28 says, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” It is so important to stop and take a moment for ourselves. When I do take a moment for myself, I feel so much better mentally and physically, and that allows me to continue to do my best with all the work I have for the day.

This month, please take some time for yourself and rest, even if it is just for fifteen minutes. Did you know that a fifteen-minute break can significantly benefit the mind? It restores focus and energy, reduces stress, improves memory and learning, and promotes well-being.

To help you free up some of your time and give your kids something fun to do, I have included a straightforward and easy craft for you to do with your kids at home. It only takes two ingredients, and you more than likely already have them in your home. It doesn’t take long to make, and once it is finished, let the kids have fun with it while you find some much-needed rest for yourself. Have fun and enjoy.
